Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology in the Baltimore geography (Maryland excluding Washington DC Suburbs) responsible for representing oncology products, generating and growing sales, and achieving targets within the territory. Develops territory business plans, identifies patient pathways, promotes products to oncologists and office staff, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive patient access and adoption. Maintains compliance with all applicable laws and company policies while building relationships with key customers and thought leaders.
Responsibilities
- Represent Oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets within a specific geographic area
- Prepare a business plan for your territory to achieve goals and initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans
- Identify patient pathways within oncology offices in assigned territory and facilitate patient access to treatment
- Promote assigned products to targeted oncologists and office staff, in-servicing all staff to ensure safe and appropriate drug administration, and inform staff of Gilead patient services
- Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders
- Experience in hospital and large account sales, managing through complex reimbursement issues
- Strong written and verbal communication, solid presentation skills, and ability to influence others at professional events to promote company products
- Partner with Medical Scientists, Marketing, and Market Access on cross-functional projects to drive sales and patient adoption
- Demonstrates leadership among peers by model compliance, behavior, and conduct
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues, communicating proactively to Marketing and Sales management
- Complete administrative tasks promptly (e.g., updating customer database, expenses)
- Ensure compliance with Gilead commercial compliance policy and applicable laws and guidance related to product promotion and information dissemination
Qualifications
- Required: High School and Nine Years' Experience OR Associates Degree and Seven Years' Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Five Years' Experience OR Master's Degree and Three Years' Experience
- Required: Ability to travel as needed within the assigned area; satisfaction of any onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners; ability to perform essential duties; valid driver's license
- Preferred: Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience and a BS/BA degree or equivalent
- Preferred: Previous product launch experience; oncology therapy experience; breast cancer experience
- Preferred: Strong selling, negotiation, and cross-functional account management skills; ability to lead and build relationships with oncology key opinion leaders
- Preferred: Aptitude for understanding scientific product information; strong analytical and independent work capabilities; familiarity with industry trends
