Responsibilities:
- Represent Gilead products/services to a defined HCV/PBC customer base; generate and grow sales to consistently meet/exceed targets in the Oakland/San Jose area.
- Establish strong relationships with healthcare practices; provide disease awareness information, clinical updates/education, and communicate healthcare changes.
- Explain complex clinical concepts at appropriate literacy levels; deliver strong presentations and communications; interact with healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan; monitor sales progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budgets for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and external expenditures.
- Partner with internal teams (Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing) and collaborate with outside partners to co-promote.
- Identify and resolve issues/opportunities; proactively communicate with marketing and sales management.
- Report adverse events to internal Drug Safety/Public Health as required.
- Complete required administration (call activity/customer info reporting, expenses, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
- High school + 11 years OR Associate’s + 9 years OR Bachelor’s + 7 years OR Master’s + 5 years.
- Regular travel within assigned area; meet onsite healthcare practitioner visitation requirements (e.g., vaccinations/screenings, as applicable).
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS; 4+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare sales.
- Superior selling in competitive markets; proven track record meeting/exceeding sales objectives (specialty preferred); product launch experience.
Comp/Benefits (as stated): $133,195–$172,370; eligible for discretionary annual bonus, stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility varies), paid time off; medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
