Senior Therapeutic Specialist – HCV/PBC (Oakland/San Jose area)
Responsibilities:
- Represent Gilead products/services to a defined customer base; generate and grow sales to consistently meet/exceed sales targets within the assigned geography.
- Establish strong relationships with healthcare practices to deliver disease awareness information, clinical education updates, and healthcare changes.
- Present and communicate complex clinical concepts to diverse audiences at appropriate literacy levels.
- Understand geography-specific issues and opportunities; focus on in-person representation and face-to-face meetings with healthcare practitioners.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts and external expenditures (e.g., educational grants, speaker events).
- Partner with internal teams (Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing); coordinate as needed with external partners.
- Report adverse events to Drug Safety/Public Health per required guidelines.
- Complete required administrative/reporting tasks (call activity, customer info, expenses) and adhere to applicable promotion/regulatory and ethics requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School + 11 years experience OR Associate’s + 9 years OR Bachelor’s + 7 years OR Master’s + 5 years.
- Travel regularly within assigned area; meet onsite visitation requirements as applicable.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS; 4+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare sales; superior selling skills in competitive markets.
- Track record meeting/exceeding sales objectives (specialty markets preferred); prior product launch experience.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Salary range: $133,195.00–$172,370.00; may include discretionary bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
