Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field-based role responsible for driving demand for BMS medicines within oncology, engaging Health Care Providers with a differentiated scientific dialogue, and building credibility with regional thought leaders and HCPs to improve patient outcomes and support business results.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and expands scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans, and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Delivers fair and balanced scientific dialogue, conducts in-office presentations, and facilitates external speaker programs as needed.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure a superior Customer Experience and shares insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct at BMS.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience (sales, MSL, HCP, nurse).
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Strong credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset to create positive Customer Experience (Cx); oncology experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated account management abilities, sales performance, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.

Education

Additional Requirements

  • Must operate a company-provided vehicle; valid driverβ€šΓ„Γ΄s license and driving record acceptable to the Company.
  • Willingness to travel as part of field-based role.
