Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Oncology – Fort Worth, TX. Field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS oncology medicines, delivering a differentiated customer experience through scientific dialogue with healthcare providers, and building credibility with regional thought leaders and medical staff across a defined territory.
Responsibilities
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
- Maintains and grows a high level of scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates scientific expertise using approved resources to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
- Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
- Organizes external speaker programs and facilitates scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure optimal customer experience and shares insights internally to better serve customers.
- Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct at BMS.
Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse preferred.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
- Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated customer experience.
- Experience in Oncology is preferred.
- Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance record.
