Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Oncology – DC Metro District. The TAS is a field-based role responsible for promoting BMS medicines within a defined territory, engaging HCPs with a scientifically grounded, patient-focused approach, and driving adoption of therapies in appropriate patients. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration and a deep scientific acumen in oncology to deliver a differentiated customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
  • Engages with and maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses CE^3 and other tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise and presents information to HCPs with medical accuracy; conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs, ensuring alignment with label and approved resources.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on emerging data for approved indications and provides real-time medical support as needed.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver optimal Customer Experience for HCPs and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to support patient care.
  • Proven track record of building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
  • Experience in Oncology required.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and a history of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred; Oncology experience required.

Additional Requirements

  • Field-based role; 100% time in the field with external customers.
  • Ability to operate a company-provided vehicle; must meet Qualified Driver requirements (age, license, driving risk level).
