Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (Sr. TAS) is a field-based role that drives demand and adoption of Bristol Myers Squibb medicines within an oncology portfolio. The position focuses on delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) with Health Care Providers (HCPs) through scientific dialogue, engagement with regional thought leaders, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet business and safety objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise and uses approved resources to present accurate information to HCPs.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and grows scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses CE^3 and other tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs within approved guidelines.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Gathers and shares insights with internal stakeholders to improve customer service.
  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience (healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse) preferred.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to support patient care.
  • Proven track record of building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and proven sales performance.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills and a results-driven orientation.
  • Ability to operate a company-provided vehicle and meet driver qualifications (age, license, driving risk level).

Education
