Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) in Oncology, field-based with primary focus on driving demand and providing differentiated scientific engagement with health care providers to optimize appropriate patient use of BMS medicines. 100% time in the field with external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and expands a high level of scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses CE^3 and other tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise to present information to HCPs with medical accuracy; conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with the label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and coordinates scheduling/logistics; maintains knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support through Medical on Call to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure optimal Customer Experience; shares insights with stakeholders; complies with laws, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
  • Proven credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset to create a differentiated Customer Experience; oncology experience preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling skills, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals; able to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Strong promotional skills and ability to drive business results.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred; additional qualifications in pharmaceutical sales or medical science liaison roles considered.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to operate a company-provided vehicle; meetings a driving risk assessment and legal requirements may apply.
  • Field-based role requiring travel to visit healthcare professionals and conduct engagements.
