Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a critical field-based role aimed at driving demand for BMS medicines within the Neuroscience portfolio by engaging Health Care Providers with a differentiated scientific dialogue and ensuring safe, appropriate use. The TAS serves as the primary contact for regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs, delivering a high-quality Customer Experience (Cx) and aligning with label indications and therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains deep scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses CE^3 tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts fair and balanced scientific dialogue using approved resources and publications; ensures medical accuracy.
  • Performs in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information aligned with the label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs, coordinating scheduling and logistics with approved speakers.
  • Keeps up-to-date with emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and technical inquiries.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to enhance Customer Experience and shares insights with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to assist physicians in patient care.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and staff, with a customer-centric mindset to create a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in Psychiatry is preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
  • Proven strong selling and promotional skills.
