Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS medicines within a defined portfolio and territory by engaging Health Care Providers with a scientific, patient-centered dialogue. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs, delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) and prioritizing safe, appropriate product use while achieving business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Utilizes CE^3 (when implemented) to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates fair and balanced scientific dialogue using approved resources and publications.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from the approved list and coordinating scheduling/logistics.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs.
  • Gathers and shares relevant insights internally to improve service to customers.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP roles, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to support patient care.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and creating a positive, differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Psychiatry experience is preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with proven performance.

Additional Requirements
