Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) in Hematology is a field-based role focused on driving demand and delivering a differentiated customer experience to health care providers to promote appropriate use of BMS medicines. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and communicates scientific information aligned with product labels, prioritizing safe and effective use while achieving business results.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and expands scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Utilizes tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with the label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and coordinates scheduling and logistics with approved speakers.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on emerging data for approved indications and supports real-time medical inquiries.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure a high customer experience and shares insights with stakeholders while complying with laws and policies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree; or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP roles, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to physicians.
  • Proven credibility with key customers and a customer-centric approach to deliver a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in Oncology required.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance history.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred.
