Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Hematology - Knoxville, TN/Chattanooga, TN. Field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS medicines, engaging Health Care Providers with a differentiated experience, and promoting appropriate use of products within a defined territory. This position requires 100% time in the field with external customers.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Promotion
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
- Maintains and enhances scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Uses CE^3 tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Conducts fair and balanced scientific dialogue with HCPs using approved resources and publications.
- Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
- Organizes external speaker programs, coordinating logistics with approved speakers list.
- Keeps up-to-date with emerging data for approved indications.
- Provides real-time medical support through Medical on Call to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
- Cross-functional collaboration with other field teams to optimize Customer Experience (Cx).
- Gathers and shares relevant insights with appropriate stakeholders to better serve customers.
- Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct at BMS.
Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
- Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
- Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
- Experience in Hematology/Oncology required.
- Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with proven performance.
