Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) – Hematology is a field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS medicines within a defined territory and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience through deep scientific dialogue with Health Care Providers. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians to ensure appropriate patient access and safe use of BMS products, while achieving business results.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains a high level of scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses CE^3 and other tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Uses scientific resources to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information aligned with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and coordinates scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages Medical on Call for real-time support.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to optimize Customer Experience for HCPs.
  • Gathers and shares insights with internal stakeholders to better serve customers.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree; or 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales/MSL/HCP/nurse.
  • Experience in Oncology required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey scientific data effectively.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with key customers and deliver a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Experience in identifying and engaging across the patient care journey; patient-focused mindset.
  • Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, and HCP preferences; data-driven insights for planning.
  • Ability to segment HCPs and tailor communications; proficiency with CE^3 and CRM tools.
  • Comfort with digital communication channels and technology in healthcare business.
  • Strong business acumen; high integrity and judgment consistent with company policies.
