Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Specialty - Kansas City N, MO. The TAS drives demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for appropriate patients, engaging HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience through deeper scientific dialogue and consistent with label. The role builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and prioritizes safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business results. This is a field-based role with significant time spent engaging external customers.
Responsibilities
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
- Maintains and expands scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas; prepares and implements territory and account plans.
- Uses available tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates scientific expertise and presents information to HCPs in a medical-accurate way; conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging data for approved indications; facilitates real-time medical support through Medical on Call.
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure a high Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs and shares insights with stakeholders.
- Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the conduct of BMS.
Qualifications
- Required: Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience in healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse; ability to communicate scientific data accurately to physicians; track record of credibility with key customers; experience in cardiovascular field preferred; strong account management and selling competencies; ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset; strong selling and promotional skills.
- Preferred: Experience in cardiovascular therapeutic area; demonstrated ability to drive business results; ability to identify and engage with customers across the patient care journey; strong problem-solving and communications skills; proficiency with CE^3 and digital tools.
