Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) for Cardiovascular Specialty in Birmingham, AL drives demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio, engaging Health Care Providers through a differentiated customer experience and scientific dialogue to promote appropriate patient use. The role is field-based and prioritizes safe, compliant product use while delivering strong business results.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and grows high-level scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Utilizes tools (e.g., SOPHIA) to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs, ensuring medical accuracy and alignment with label.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to optimize the Customer Experience for HCPs and shares insights internally.
  • Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
  • Proven credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset to create a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in cardiovascular therapeutic area preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative attitude.

  • Analytical capability to interpret data on prescribing patterns and market trends; proficiency with CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred; additional professional qualifications in pharmaceutical sales or related field may be considered.

  • Position requires operation of a company-provided vehicle; valid driver's license and meeting company driver requirements are prerequisites.
