Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Community - Sacramento, CA. Field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS medicines within the cardiovascular portfolio, engaging Health Care Providers with scientific dialogue, and delivering a differentiated customer experience in support of business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and grows scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas; develops comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Utilizes tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership to enable continuous improvement.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs, ensuring medical accuracy and alignment with labeling.
  • Maintains working knowledge of emerging data; engages real-time medical support as needed.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver an optimal Customer Experience for HCPs; shares insights with stakeholders.
  • Adheres to all laws, regulations, and company policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech roles (sales, MSL, HCP, nurse).
  • Ability to communicate scientific data accurately to physicians to support patient care.
  • Proven credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset to create a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in cardiovascular field preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a demonstrated performance history.

Skills

  • Customer/commercial mindset; ability to drive business results and tailor engagement along the patient care journey.
  • Patient centricity and understanding of the patient journey.
  • Scientific agility: ability to present complex data clearly and stay current with latest research.
  • Analytical capability: data interpretation, segmentation, and data-driven call planning using CE^3 or similar tools.
  • Digital agility: proficiency with digital channels and CRM tools; effective use of Medical on Call technology.
  • Teamwork and enterprise mindset with integrity and sound judgment.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred; additional certifications in relevant therapeutic areas are a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Operates a Company-provided vehicle; requires meeting the company's Qualified Driver criteria (e.g., age, license, driving risk level).
  • Field-based role requiring travel to visit HCPs/patients, with onsite expectations as defined by role.
