Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Community - Houston S, TX. Field-based role focusing on driving demand for BMS medicines within the cardiovascular portfolio, engaging Health Care Providers with a differentiated Customer Experience, and prioritizing safe and appropriate use of products while achieving business results.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
  • Engages with and maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Proactively uses tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans.
  • Provides feedback on experiences using these tools to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise and presents information to HCPs with medical accuracy; conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and facilitates scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains working expertise on emerging data for approved indications; engages Medical on Call to address questions.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience and shares insights with stakeholders.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the conduct of BMS.

Qualifications

  • Required: Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a positive Customer Experience.
  • Experience in cardiovascular field preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with proven performance.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Operation of a company-provided vehicle; must meet Qualified Driver requirements (age 21+, valid license, acceptable driving risk).
