Position Summary
- Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is field-based (anticipated 100% time in the field with external customers). Primary focus: drive demand for Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) medicines for appropriate patients through differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) and deeper scientific dialogue consistent with label.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote approved indications in a defined territory/region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets compliantly.
- Create demand by articulating clinical/scientific rationale for appropriate patients.
- Build and maintain scientific expertise across assigned products/therapeutic areas.
- Prepare and implement territory/account plans.
- Use tools such as CE^3 to generate insights, inform call plans, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Deliver fair and balanced scientific dialogue using approved resources; ensure medical accuracy.
- Conduct in-office presentations; organize and facilitate external speaker programs.
- Maintain expertise on emerging data; engage Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions/complex technical inquiries.
- Collaborate with other field teams and share insights internally.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience in healthcare sales/MSL/HCP/nurse.
- Ability to communicate clinical/scientific data accurately to physicians and HCPs.
- Proven account management, selling skills, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
- Demonstrated credibility-building with customers/HCP influence network.
- Cross-functional collaboration; positive team mindset.
- Strong selling/promotional skills.
- Experience in cardiovascular preferred.
