HVAC&R Technician
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial HVAC&R systems and vaccine process equipment; correct Plant Engineering maintenance problems.
- Develop SOPs and preventative maintenance (PM) plans; document activities.
- Perform SAP transactions and change control (e.g., spare part lists, PM plans) and maintain compliance with PM/calibration systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance (e.g., diaphragm/gasket replacement, lubrication, filter changes, rotating equipment inspection) and install/repair/calibrate complex automated/process equipment.
- Interface with Operations/Quality/Automation/Technology and contractors; schedule and oversee maintenance work.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in a compliant state (cGMP/safety/environment); maintain schedule adherence; perform Hazardous Energy Control (Lockout/Tagout).
- Support continuous improvement and customer service (internal/external).
Responsible For Supporting (examples):
- Industrial refrigeration (DX, chillers, cascade refrigeration, freezers, air handlers, cold boxes) and utilities (clean steam, WFI, RO skids, stills, compressed gas, chilled water, glycol, steam/condensate).
- DCS/PLC systems; lab/instrument calibrations; electrical distribution, motor control, generators/ATS, VFDs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- HS Diploma (or equivalent).
- 5+ years plant maintenance experience in instrumentation/electrical/plumbing/advanced mechanical/HVAC and/or multi-stage refrigeration.
- GMP familiarity; able to read electrical prints, P&IDs, and control loops.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and PC/windows; technical capability with PLCs and CMMS/calibration databases.
- Valid EPA 608 certification (or obtain within 30 days).
- Available for rotating days and on-call nights/weekends; lift 50 lbs; climb/work at heights; clean room gowning.
Preferred:
- Associate degree; clean room/GMP/biopharma or FDA-regulated experience.
- Knowledge of Siemens APOGEE/Desigo BAS; SAP; Allen Bradley PLCs.
Skills:
- HVAC&R troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration, documentation/communication, and problem-solving.

- Salary range: $77,700–$122,300; eligible for annual bonus/long-term incentive (if applicable); comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision and 401(k).
