Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional engineering activities including user/stakeholder needs definition, use case analysis, traceability, standards coverage analysis, system/sub-system requirements definition, third-party integration, system architecture & integration, risk management planning/reporting, system risk assessment, use/error risk assessments, drug product development integration, and design validation.
- Apply systems engineering principles internally and externally.
- Partner with external engineering service firms/third-party development partners (may require periodic face-to-face visits).
- Provide technical leadership and ensure systems design/documentation meet safety and regulatory compliance requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s (typically 12 years), Masterโ€™s (typically 10 years), or PhD (typically 4 years) in relevant field; thorough theoretical/practical understanding of own discipline.
- Effective writer/communicator of research and regulatory materials.
- Leadership experience influencing/negotiating within global engineering teams.
- Experience from concept through release to market.
- Expertise in regulated design/development aligned with IEC 60601, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, 11608; compliance with ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, MDR.
- Experience with user/stakeholder needs, requirements definition, risk management, and product architecture.
- Strong analytical/communication skills; requirements management tools, V-model, context/architecture diagrams, interface management.
- Familiarity with device design controls, system decomposition, operational simulations, error budgeting, sensitivity analysis.
- Experience with vendor communication/management, deliverable acceptance testing, and multicultural collaboration.
- Demonstrated technical leadership/ownership and ability to guide less experienced personnel.
