Role Summary

The Senior Specialty Representative – Rheumatology is the primary customer contact for medical professionals in the Omaha, NE area with a broader territory including Lincoln, NE and Sioux Falls, SD. You will implement marketing strategies and promote Amgen products under the District Manager’s direction, while delivering clinical knowledge to support sales and patient access. This role focuses on promoting products in areas with limited treatment options and achieving territory sales goals through branded messaging and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and communicate the clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals.
  • Lead as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by implementing and delivering branded sales messages, programs, and educational activities, and by meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensure product access, resolve reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Maintain passion for our products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and focusing on patient service.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continually learn to grow in the Senior Specialty Representative role.
  • Apply knowledge of disease states, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry or hospital sales experience OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry or hospital sales experience OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry or hospital sales experience.
  • Preferred: Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology or infectious diseases; Hunter sales experience outside pharma; Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration; Core Competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; Cultivating Internal and External Relationships.
