Role Summary

Senior Specialty Representative – Rheumatology for the New Orleans, Louisiana territory. Focuses on promoting Amgen products, providing clinical knowledge to medical professionals, and delivering branded sales strategies under district leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals
  • Lead territory sales by delivering branded messages, implementing planned programs, coordinating medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Utilize relationships to service and manage accounts, ensure product access, resolve reimbursement issues, and maintain contracts
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and develop territory plans with the District Manager
  • Maintain passion for products throughout the sales cycle and reinforce the brand while serving patients
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and pursue continuous learning to grow in the role
  • Leverage disease-state awareness and changes in industry/regulation to deliver results

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR
    • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR
    • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry, with experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology or infectious diseases
    • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
    • Adaptability with core competencies: Planning/Organizing, Knowledge, Communication, Results, Relationships
