Purpose
- The Senior Specialist, IT Category Financial Analyst supports strategic management of IT spend categories (SaaS, Servers, Storage, Network, Cloud, Professional Services, Outsourced Services, Contract Labor, etc.) through financial analyses, forecasts, and savings models to enable data-driven sourcing decisions and senior stakeholder reporting.

Hybrid Work
- Hybrid role in North Chicago (3 days in office / 2 days remote)

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models for IT procurement categories to support sourcing strategy, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization.
- Build forecasting models for IT spend; track savings vs. targets and benchmarks.
- Partner with IT category managers to analyze spend patterns, vendor performance, and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on procurement financial performance, savings, and value delivery.
- Conduct variance analyses vs. contract baselines/forecasts and provide actionable insights.
- Support development/refinement of total cost of ownership (TCO) models for major IT initiatives.
- Ensure savings reporting reflects the correct methodology (e.g., cost avoidance vs. P&L savings) and aligns with procurement/finance policy.
- Provide financial support for business cases for new IT investments, contract renewals, and supplier proposals.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis for management decisions and stakeholder requests.
- Collaborate across Procurement, IT, and Finance to advance strategic sourcing goals.
- Provide insights to IT category managers using 3rd-party market intelligence platforms.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
- 4+ years progressive experience in consulting, finance, or procurement analytics (preferably global).
- Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills; experience with savings calculation methodologies.
- Experience working with diverse cross-functional teams and communicating with executive stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and PowerBI and/or Spotfire; experience with procurement systems (e.g., Coupa, SAP, Ariba) and spend analytics systems (e.g., Sievo) a plus.
