Senior Specialist, Engineering

Senior Specialist of Engineering (Animal Health) β Hands-on SME supporting expansion and long-term operation of a new manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as SME for Aseptic Filling Lines, Freeze Dryers, and HVAC/Utilities equipment.
- Support design/build of pharmaceutical filling and lyophilization at the De Soto site.
- Support FAT/SAT for equipment.
- Support commissioning and qualification (CQV); coordinate with stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors for compliant startup.
- Troubleshoot and optimize equipment/systems during startup and ongoing operations.
- Assist with training for equipment and systems.
- Author SOPs and Preventive Maintenance plans.
- Partner with Maintenance and Operations to improve reliability, maintenance practices, and efficiency.
- Support regulatory audits/inspections with CQV and engineering questions.
- Model strong safety practices and proper PPE; other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelorβs in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 5 years in manufacturing and/or engineering in regulated environments.
- Mechanical systems/equipment and refrigeration experience.
- Experience developing process procedures.
- Technical aptitude, problem-solving, strong written/verbal communication.
- Self-starter, collaborative, manage multiple tasks.
Preferred:
- Design/facilities/manufacturing engineering; large-scale startup experience.
- cGMP; USDA/FDA environments.
- Knowledge of lyophilization, filling lines, aseptic practices; multi-discipline project management.
Schedule/Travel:
- Day shift, MonβFri; off-shift coverage may be needed.
- Travel to equipment suppliers for FATs.
