Job Summary
The Senior Specialist, Benefit Operations manages and coordinates administration of company-sponsored health and welfare benefits and wellness programs (primary for Canada; also supports US and Puerto Rico). Provides Tier 2 support and works with People Services teams and external benefit partners to ensure effective, efficient programs and a strong employee experience.

Essential Functions
- Use ServiceNow to research and resolve Tier 2 benefits operations cases.
- Oversee daily administration of medical, dental, vision, COBRA, retiree MAP/EGWP, HSA, FSAs, life insurance, disability, wellness, and other ancillary plans.
- Lead implementations, enhancements, testing, deployment, execution, administration, and communications of benefit plans/systems.
- Partner with Benefit Strategists/Service Delivery Management on feasibility of benefit additions/modifications; provide SME input for plan requirements and vendor deliverables.
- Identify process automation opportunities.
- Serve as main operational point of contact for benefit administrators, carriers, and vendors.
- Support Annual Enrollment planning/execution; partner with Communications; oversee administrator delivery; analyze enrollment trends.
- Compile data for second-level appeals; maintain reference materials/Knowledge Articles.
- Prepare/oversee required government filings (e.g., 5500s, SARs, 1095s).
- Prepare financial reports; audit/reconcile carrier/vendor invoicing; support PO process.
- Assist with audits and benefit surveys.
- Coordinate M&A benefit operations activities and related reporting/archiving.
- Create training/resources (webinars, workshops, informational materials).
- Monitor/utilize benefits utilization and cost/trend analysis for optimization.
- Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or CEBS preferred.

Experience
- 5–7 years benefits administration; 3+ years in senior/lead role required; Canadian experience preferred.
- Self-insured or large complex benefits programs required; RRSP and Medicare knowledge preferred.
- Benefits administration software/HRIS required; Workday and Alight preferred.
- Experience implementing new benefit technologies/upgrading systems/operational redesigns strongly preferred.

- Strong analytical skills and MS Excel; exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; able to explain complex benefits to stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management/organizational skills; manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative, multifunctional team orientation; deliver goals with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
- Typical office environment; 50% hybrid schedule; occasional travel may be required; may require >40 workweek for special projects/seasonality.

Compensation (if listed)
- Tampa, FL, US: $68,430–$82,915 (plus possible incentives/stock based on eligibility).
