Job Summary
Senior Specialist, Benefit Operations (Canada primary; supports US and Puerto Rico). Tier 2 benefits operations support in collaboration with People Services and external benefit partners to ensure effective, efficient benefit administration and customer experience.
Essential Functions
- Use ServiceNow to research and resolve Tier 2 benefits operations cases.
- Oversee daily administration of medical, dental, vision, COBRA, retiree MAP & EGWP, HSA, FSAs, life insurance, disability, wellness, and other ancillary plans.
- Lead implementations/enhancements/testing/deployment/execution/administration/communications for benefits plans and systems.
- Partner with Benefit Strategists/Service Delivery Management on feasibility for operationalizing proposed benefit changes; provide SME input.
- Identify process automation opportunities.
- Serve as main operational contact for benefit administrators, carriers, and vendors.
- Support Annual Enrollments; oversee contracted service delivery; analyze enrollment trends.
- Compile data for second-level appeals; maintain Knowledge Articles.
- Prepare/oversee vendor government filings (e.g., 5500s, SARs, 1095s); audit/reconcile invoicing and support PO process.
- Assist with audits/benefit surveys; coordinate M&A benefit operations activities.
- Provide training/resources for benefits offerings; monitor utilization/costs/trends.
Education/Experience/Skills
- Bachelorβs in HR/Business Admin or equivalent; SHRM-CP/PHR/CEBS preferred.
- 5β7 years benefits administration; 3+ years senior/lead; Canadian experience preferred.
- Self-insured or large complex plans required; RRSP/Medicare preferred.
- Benefits administration software/HRIS required; Workday/Alight preferred.
- Strong Excel/analytics and attention to detail; clear written/verbal communication; project management; collaborative, minimal-supervision delivery.
Work Environment
- Typical office; 50% hybrid; occasional travel.
