Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Software Engineering Manager and business stakeholders to deliver world-class applications for Lab workflows (Pathology, Genetics, Quality Evidence).
- Gather requirements, design technical implementations, and convert designs into functional code.
- Test functionality and support QA to ensure solutions are defect-free.
- Monitor incident tickets, set resolution priorities with users, and document resolutions.
- Perform code reviews; collaborate with Cloud Operations/DevOps to support releases.
- Provide engineering support for applications from delivery through retirement, including defect fixes.
- Apply best practices to improve quality and performance; stay current on software development trends.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical problems (code quality, performance, scalability).
- Coordinate with product management and QA for seamless delivery.
- Help estimate timelines, resources, and delivery details for releases.
- Mentor junior developers; assist with related duties and special projects.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelorβs in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
- 5β7 years in core Java and enterprise application development; Spring Boot experience.
- Python understanding; JavaScript for front/back end; Vue.js or React/SPA.
- Relational DB expertise: SQL and ORM (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- REST API design/integration; design patterns, data structures, algorithms.
- Security: authentication, encryption, OIDC/OAuth 2; HIPAA compliance.
- Clean, maintainable code; unit testing experience.
- Docker and Kubernetes (preferred); Git; CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Cloud services: AWS Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3 (or similar in GCP/Azure).
- Agile experience; strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Java EE Certification; AI tools (Cursor AI).
- Maven/build tooling; advanced SQL for MySQL/PostgreSQL.
- Independent diagnosis/root-cause resolution.
- HIPAA compliance experience focused on improving patient outcomes.
