Job Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain features/components for regulated clinical software; deliver well-structured, testable, documented code.
- Lead/contribute to design and architecture discussions; evaluate options and trade-offs.
- Perform peer code reviews; maintain code quality and surface issues affecting correctness, performance, or compliance.
- Partner with product management to refine requirements, identify technical constraints, and estimate backlog items.
- Create/maintain technical records (design docs, ADRs, operational runbooks) meeting SOX and FDA change-control obligations.
- Instrument, monitor, and support production systems; participate in incident response and root-cause analysis.
- Build automated test coverage (unit, integration, end-to-end) and automate recurring engineering/ops work.
- Mentor engineers via code review/pair programming/knowledge sharing.
- Advocate for technical-debt remediation to improve reliability, maintainability, or compliance.
- Work AI-first using AI coding assistants/agentic workflows with review quality gates.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in CS/Software Eng or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years building/maintaining production software systems.
- Hands-on full SDLC experience (requirements, design, implementation, testing, release).
- Proven automated testing experience (unit/integration/end-to-end).
- Strong code review skills and applying engineering standards to shared codebases.
- Hands-on fluency with AI coding assistants/agentic development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare/clinical lab/diagnostics/life sciences software experience.
- Agile delivery and related tooling.
- Cloud-native development/deployment experience.
- Ability to lead design discussions and explain architecture to technical/non-technical audiences.
- Mentoring experience.
- Experience in FDA/SOX/CLIA/HIPAA-regulated environments (preferred).
Location: Irving, Texas (DallasβFort Worth), on-site/hybrid; minimum 3 days/week on campus.
