Role Summary
Regeneron is currently seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Infectious Diseases team focused on combating viral pathogens. The individual will use their knowledge of immunology and virology in a variety of in vitro and in vivo models to contribute to exciting projects. This role emphasizes hands-on design, execution, and interpretation of immunology and virology experiments in a BSL-2 setting.
Responsibilities
- Designing, executing and analyzing cell-based virus infection assays and other in vitro assays in a BSL2 environment (30%)
- Designing, carrying out and analyzing molecular experiments including PCR, cloning, nucleic acid isolation/purification, protein purification (30%)
- Designing, performing and analyzing in vivo experiments using mice and ex vivo tissue processing and analysis by Flow cytometry, ELISA, ELIspot, qRT-PCR, plaque assay, and other (20%), in a BSL2 environment
- Troubleshooting methodological and technical issues
- Interpreting experimental data and literature, and communicating results in various scientific settings
Qualifications
- Experience with immunology techniques, molecular biology techniques, and cell-based in vitro assays
- Experience with animal handling and mouse in vivo techniques such as IV injections, virus challenge models, and ex vivo tissue analysis, in BSL2 environments
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative and cross-functional environment
- Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel, independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Minimum qualifications: PhD and 1 year of experience, or BS/MS with 8–10 years of experience in immunology and/or infectious disease
- Strong background in one or more areas of immunology, virology, and/or infectious diseases and ability to perform tasks involved in immunological research in a BSL2 environment
- Experience with some of the following skills are preferred: cloning, protein purification, microscopy
