Operations
Purpose
- Scientist for AbbVie’s Non-regulated Bioanalysis Team (North Chicago) within QTAS, supporting pipeline-enabling preclinical studies using LC/MS-based bioanalysis; provide scientific leadership for custom methods for complex modalities; evaluate and implement novel technologies and methodologies.

Core Responsibilities
- Support quantitative bioanalysis method development and optimization; hands-on peptide extraction, separation, and quantification.
- Independently investigate, evaluate, and implement new analytical methodologies/technologies to meet challenging assay requirements while using resources effectively.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and rapidly respond to instrument and assay issues.
- Support operational activities: meet preclinical study timelines, operate/maintain LC/MS instruments, and maintain accurate study documentation in electronic notebooks.
- Stay current with emerging literature and analytical science developments.
- Mentor junior scientists.

Qualifications
- PhD (0+ years), MS (8+ years), or BS (10+ years) in analytical chemistry or related field with relevant academic/industry experience.
- In-depth understanding of LCMS methodology and quantitative science (focus on synthetic molecules).
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS platforms and software; familiarity with automated sample preparation platforms.
- Pharmacokinetics knowledge (experimental design and data analysis) is a plus.
- Regulated bioanalysis and/or CRO experience is a plus.
- Strong teamwork across interdisciplinary partners; highly motivated and adaptable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
