The PCS Data System Owner is an expert in PCS data systems as they are applied to PCS workflows and dataflows. Partners with Information Research, data system vendors, and contract staff/consultants to develop workflow templates, custom fields & calculations, and other functionality in Core Enterprise Data Systems (e.g., Prestima, Ponemah, SEND) to support PCS business needs. Serves as the voice of scientists and Dev Sci system users regarding system issues and enhancements required to enable current and new data and digital capabilities. Provides system user training for new implementations and upgrades and helps scientists troubleshoot data system issues to enable and improve PCS workflows and data flows.
- Supports user requirements engineering with PCS functions; consults on “as-is” vs “enhanced” and “buy vs. build” aligned with PCS data/systems architecture.
- Interacts with business platform vendors; responsible for functional life cycle management (update, upgrade, enhancement).
- Resolves key project hurdles and assumptions using available information and technical expertise.
- Adheres to data integrity, data system validation, and information security standards.
- Maintains expertise across multiple core PCS business platform systems.
- Drives Agile methodology for efficient systems/app development with rapid iteration.
- May mentor/supervise one or more contractors; accountable for performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and typically 10 years’ experience; OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) and typically 8 years’ experience; OR PhD and typically 0 years’ experience.
