Position Description:
- As the mass spectrometry SME within the Analytical Development group of tLNP CMC Development, develop LC-MS methods for characterizing biotherapeutic products to support tLNP development, with an emphasis on mRNA and oligonucleotide analysis.
- Foster productive collaborations within the global Analytical CMC organization and with cross-functional R&D partners (Discovery, Process Chemistry, Process Engineering, Drug Product Development, Quality Assurance, and CMC-Regulatory Affairs).

Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mass spectrometry (Orbitrap, TOF) and liquid chromatography platforms and general lab equipment.
- Document instrument performance, organize maintenance, and coordinate with service engineers.
- Lead characterization of mRNA critical quality attributes (5’ capping efficiency, 3’ polyA tail distribution, oligonucleotide sequence mapping).
- Provide analytical support to cross-functional teams (formulation, upstream/downstream development, manufacturing).
- Advance LC-MS characterization by developing innovative techniques to meet evolving needs and improve efficiency.
- Conduct sample preparation and LC-MS analyses per SOPs; document procedures/results in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN).
- Author/review regulatory submission documents (e.g., IND and comparability study).

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field; 0–3 years industry experience.
- Strong plus: LC-MS experience analyzing mRNA, oligonucleotides, antibodies, and LNPs.
- Preferred: mRNA 5’ capping and 3’ polyA tail LC-MS analysis.
- Proficient in operating/maintaining/troubleshooting LC-MS (including interface changes/cleaning).
- Experience with LCMS data acquisition/analysis software (e.g., XCalibur, Skyline, MassLynx, Protein Metrics, FreeStyle, BioPharma Finder).
- Organized, detail-oriented, strong documentation; collaborative and able to work independently.
- Plus: other analytical techniques relevant to mRNA/LNP; strong communication/presentation skills.
