Role Summary:
Senior Scientist, Biomarker Operations Project Management plans and executes clinical-trial biomarkers across the pipeline, ensuring compliant, efficient biospecimen collection, assay execution, and data delivery. Primary focus: Immunology and Oncology (may expand as needed).
Primary Activities Include:
- Collaborate with biomarker scientists and study teams to plan clinical-trial biomarker set-up and logistics.
- Serve as operational partner to Biomarker Leads; implement strategies advancing biomarker programs.
- Co-author biomarker-related sections of clinical study protocols.
- Define and manage specimen collection, handling, shipping, storage, and processing requirements.
- Develop biomarker vendor statements of work and data-transfer specifications; coordinate logistics, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
- Partner with Data Management to transfer biomarker data from vendors into the clinical data repository.
- Design sample collection kits, laboratory manuals, and specimen logistics for third-party vendor shipments.
- Build partnerships with external vendors and internal teams; resolve conflicting stakeholder needs.
- Implement and continuously improve streamlined workflows to maximize efficiency and data quality.
Education:
- Bachelorโs (5+ years) or Masterโs/higher (3+ years) in a scientific/technological field with relevant experience.
Experience/Skills:
- Project management experience; experience in drug discovery and/or clinical research.
- Fast-paced, evolving environment; advocate for operational excellence.
- Excellent written/verbal communication in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
