Role Summary
Senior Scientist - Cell Biology and Disease Modeling, Cambridge, MA. Develop and implement cellular models that recapitulate human disease biology, with a focus on immune-mediated diseases, and use them to evaluate therapeutic candidate efficacy and mechanism of action. This role combines hands-on cell biology expertise with strategic project leadership to accelerate therapeutic discovery through physiologically relevant disease models.
Responsibilities
- Internalize, design and/or establish in vitro and ex vivo cellular models that reflect aspects of human disease pathophysiology, with a focus on immune-mediated diseases, and use to evaluate therapeutic candidate efficacy and mechanism-of-action
- Implement advanced cell culture techniques including 3D cultures, co-cultures, and patient-derived systems, with multi-omic, imaging and other read-outs
- Establish and validate cellular biomarker assays for translational research applications
- Develop and maintain cell biology laboratory capabilities, including equipment procurement and protocol standardization
- Collaborate with CROs to implement and transfer cellular model protocols
- Interface cross-functionally with research teams to integrate cellular biology data into therapeutic development decisions
