The Scientist 3 - QC is responsible to perform testing of raw materials, in-process and finished pharmaceutical dosage forms/products on stability, cleaning verification samples following written procedures and applicable SOPs, calculate and report results on applicable specification documents, and participate in method transfer activities within/between departments or facilities. Provide feedback on systems and analytical procedures to promote continuous improvement and enhancement of compliance posture.

Essential Functions:
- Perform physical and chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished pharmaceutical products (including stability) per written methods, material specifications, and SOPs; comply with cGMP/SOPs/STPs and state/federal regulations.
- Participate in assigned project work; perform process validation and cleaning validation/verification testing; assist with analytical, instrument, and software issues.
- Use and calibrate analytical equipment (e.g., sonic sifter, laser diffraction, Karl Fischer, UV-Vis/IR spectrophotometers, HPLC, TLC, pH meter, dissolution) including calibrations of HPLC and dissolution systems.
- Document analysis steps/results; investigate laboratory results; review data for completeness and specification compliance; report abnormal findings; ensure calculations and records are technically correct and compliant.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with non-routine special projects (e.g., OOS/OA investigations); remove expired chemicals/reference standards; perform equipment calibration (e.g., HPLC/GC); train new Technicians/Scientists 1 and 2.

Qualifications:
- Education: BS/BA in Chemistry or related science (Required); MS/MA (Preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years (BS/BA) or 3+ years (MS/MA) in testing chemicals/pharmaceutical products.
- Specialized Knowledge/Skills: in-depth analytical chemistry techniques; follow compendial procedures (USP/EP/BP/JP); apply cGMP in QC; troubleshoot complex analytical/instrument problems; identify trends in analytical data.

Additional Requirement: Successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.

Compensation/Benefits:
- Base salary range: $93,000–$123,000 per year; eligible positions receive comprehensive benefits and 401(k) matching.
