The Position
Execute assigned projects across business units within cost, quality, & schedule requirements. Coach/support PM1s & PM2s to ensure projects succeed (on budget, on time, within scope). Partner with Line of Business (LOB) to guide projects, ensure execution is staffed as planned, and support development of project roadmap & area master plan. Provide indirect first-level project guidance to PMO staff via 1:1s, roadblock resolution, risk reporting.

Essential Functions
- Project Management:
- Lead multi-disciplined teams to deliver projects on-time/on-budget meeting quality, cost, schedule requirements.
- Develop/execute project plans; manage staffing (internal/external) and training needs; create project staffing plans and manage external staff for budget alignment.
- Provide cash flow and schedule projections for budget cycles; refine business cases and communicate quantifiable project benefits.
- Manage contract/internal resources; clarify/refine scope with subject matter experts.
- Bid/Vendor & Procurement Support:
- Develop bid packages, evaluate bids, drive vendor selection; work with procurement on contracts.
- Own financial aspects (PO creation, invoicing, cost forecasting); monitor/control quality, schedule, budget.
- Track/report progress and communications; ensure steering group status/gate presentation quality.
- Review/approve/endorse project-related procurement.
- PMO Tools & Portfolio Support:
- Support building/managing/improving PMO tools; align with global programs and STG/project owners.
- Support PM mentoring/onboarding; support LOB roadmaps (1โ€“3 years) & master plans (3+ years), obsolescence tracking, and downtime tracking.
- Indirect Reporting of PMO Staff:
- Serve as primary communication/escalation path (1:1, steering group meetings); assist with steering presentations; consult on PM assignments/performance; confirm PMO tool/standards use; support procurement approvals.
- Follow safety and environmental requirements.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an open office with frequent distraction; travel up to 10%.

Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering or Technical Science (required); or Associateโ€™s degree plus 10+ years proven project management; or HS/GED plus 12+ additional years.
- Minimum 8 years proven project management.
- Required: lead change management projects; lead complex/major capital expenditure projects; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology.
- Required skills: advanced PM competencies (via training/preferred), excellent communication (writing/oral/presentation/facilitation), negotiation & conflict resolution, ability to work technical/non-technical areas, critical/strategic thinking, strong analytical/organizational/multi-tasking, cross-cultural stakeholder communication, Microsoft Office proficiency, independent judgment/leadership, team collaboration, and role model (Novo Nordisk Way).
- Preferred: Lean knowledge for manufacturing; advanced project management training.
