Role Summary

As a Senior Project Manager supporting GMP Protein Manufacturing within our Advanced Cell Systems portfolio, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving strategic, high-impact projects that enable our customers towards innovation and life-changing breakthroughs. This role offers the opportunity of managing multiple projects of differing types and scopes. You will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and closing projects while ensuring that they meet all objectives within scope, time, and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Define the scope, goals, deliverables, and roadblocks of projects in collaboration with senior management and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Manages and executes multiple projects.
  • Create a detailed schedule which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Execute the project according to the project schedule by closely monitoring timelines, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
  • Facilitate and coordinate project meetings, communication with external partners and records (minutes, communication with stakeholders).
  • Maintain clear and open communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of project progress, challenges and milestones.
  • Provide direction and support to project team to eliminate roadblocks, acquire resources, and overcome schedule constraints
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Anticipate project roadblocks and engage relevant resources to address
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project output
  • Charter, manage and rescue more challenging projects where the scope, timelines, and available resources are ill-defined.
  • Coach and develop other project managers.
  • Responsible for evaluating effectiveness and updating formal procedures for project management processes at one or more sites.

Occasional Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage project budget.
  • Manage Project Managers on ongoing projects and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor‚Äôs Degree in a life sciences relevant field (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering) required
  • At least 5 years of project management experience or similar experience leading project teams in the Life Science, Medical Device or related industry is required
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001, GMP, ISO 13485 compliant environment and willingness to manage the project according to the requirements of these standards and Bio-Techne internal requirements

Preferred Qualifications And Experience

  • PMP Certification
  • An advanced degree in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, or a related STEM field.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Proven ability to interact with more senior functional managers.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers for:
    • Project scheduling software (such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, etc.)
    • Simple accounting
    • Data base management
    • Spreadsheets
    • Standard Office software (e.g. Microsoft Office)
    • Managing in-person, hybrid, and online meetings
  • Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques within a diverse cross-functional team.
  • Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance project effectiveness.
  • Lead: Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
  • Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
  • Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities.
  • Plan: Determine strategies to move the project forward, create and implement actions to minimize delays, and anticipate requirements/actions to maintain schedule.
  • Solve Problems: Working with the Project Team, assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations that meet company goals.
