The Position
- Serves as the production accounting subject matter expert for manufacturing-related financial processes within DPM US. Ensures accurate accounting of manufacturing transactions, inventory valuation, standard costing, period-end close activities, and production-related financial reporting while maintaining a strong control environment in a regulated setting (IFRS and Novo Nordisk governance).
Essential Functions
- Ensure accurate accounting of production-related transactions and manufacturing activities.
- Validate production cost allocations and inventory postings for IFRS/policy compliance.
- Manage inventory accounting and controls (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
- Support standard costing and annual cost roll processes.
- Analyze cost development, inventory movements, and variances.
- Drive month/quarter/year-end close and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Prepare/review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet documentation.
- Maintain internal controls; support internal/external audits.
- Identify and remediate process/control risks; investigate discrepancies and variances.
- Provide accounting guidance; improve transparency via reporting/variance analysis.
- Standardize/automate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting; support system/process changes.
- Follow safety & environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Masterโs in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business Admin (or related) + 7 years relevant experience; OR Bachelorโs + 9 years.
- Strong technical accounting; inventory/manufacturing accounting, standard costing, financial close, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls.
- SAP/ERP; advanced Excel/analytics; English proficiency.
- Preferred: regulated industry, audit support, IFRS knowledge, SAP S/4HANA, process improvement/automation.
- Advantage (preferred): CPA/CMA/ACCA/HD(R)/equivalent.
- Required: strong communication/interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and prioritize.
