Senior Principal Platform Engineer (AI Next Frontier (AINF) Workbench)
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the AINF Workbench technical architecture.
- Set engineering strategy for shared services, gateway services, and runtime capabilities to scale adoption.
- Build foundational frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and developer platforms for Workbench adoption.
- Lead reusable agent frameworks, skills definition, and agent integration strategies.
- Establish standards for MCP, A2A, and A2UI interoperability.
- Create a shared catalog of reusable AI services, tools, agents, and business capabilities.
- Partner with AI Core teams to implement governed agent execution, observability, security, discoverability, and platform operations.
- Ensure interoperability with the broader J&J enterprise ecosystem via APIs and standardized platform contracts.
- Define quality metrics (reuse, adoption, reliability, release velocity, productivity, AI effectiveness).
- Build the organization to support the long-term roadmap (AI channels, AI production, autonomous execution, enterprise expansion).
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years software engineering for enterprise-scale digital products/platforms/distributed systems.
- 7+ years as lead architect/principal engineer/engineering lead for platform strategy.
- 2+ years developing/using AI agents and orchestration.
- Platform modernization + enterprise engineering standards.
- Reusable platforms/frameworks/SDKs/developer ecosystems (not standalone apps).
- Regulated/complex enterprise experience.
- Cloud-native AWS + modern cloud app development (TypeScript, NodeJS, NestJS, React/NextJS, GraphQL, REST, SSR/SSG/CSR).
- AWS services: API Gateway, Lambda, EKS, EC2, SNS/SQS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager.
- Enterprise AI ecosystems: LLM integrations, multi-agent systems, orchestration, RAG, tool-calling, context engineering, AI observability/governance, A2A workflows, MCP.
- Hands-on Git/Jenkins/Terraform/Kubernetes/Docker/IaC + platform observability.
- Deep XENA platform knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmaceutical/healthcare/regulated industry experience.
- Enterprise agent platforms; Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs).
- Reusable enterprise SDKs/framework libraries.
- Influencing senior executives; leading organizational transformation.
