Responsibilities
Pre-Startup/Startup:
- Lead site-wide industrial hygiene support for design, construction, equipment selection, and startup; inform risk assessments, engineering controls, containment, and management of change.
- Develop and implement the site industrial hygiene framework (programs, procedures, exposure assessment strategies, governance/business processes, training) for operational readiness and GMP.
- Partner with engineering, operations, occupational health, maintenance, and quality to identify risks, implement controls, and integrate requirements into site systems and safe work.
Post-Startup:
- Oversee industrial hygiene programs (exposure monitoring, medical surveillance support, respiratory protection, hazard communication, PPE, biological safety, permits/reporting, and agency interactions).
- Build monitoring plans, interpret exposure data, deliver recommendations/reports, support audits/investigations, and track performance metrics for compliance and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in industrial hygiene/occupational health/safety or related scientific/technical field.
- 5+ years industrial hygiene and HSE experience in GMP manufacturing (pharma/chemical preferred).
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
Additional Skills/Preferences
- CIH certification (or actively working toward it).
- Greenfield/startup and regulated manufacturing experience; cGMP experience.
- Exposure assessment/air sampling/data interpretation; engineering controls/containment.
- Respiratory protection, medical surveillance, hazard communication, PPE, biological safety, hazardous materials, occupational health reporting.
