Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated project and team leadership; mentor less experienced engineers.
- Design circuits with RF circuitry, analog controls, transducers, and sensors for dermatology products using RF, lasers, and ultrasonic energy.
- Perform electronics schematic capture; supervise CAD layout resources.
- Develop and construct system/periphery electronic board prototypes.
- Hands-on laboratory debug and integration to test and verify hardware designs.
- Participate in technical design reviews.
- Incorporate DFM and EMC principles for medical device designs.
- Use change process and configuration management tools.
- Assure equipment compliance to IEC medical device standards (60601-1, 60601-1-2, etc.).
- Participate in systems-level failure mode, safety, and hazard analysis.
- Support Manufacturing and Service reliability/failure analysis investigations.
- Learn/support legacy products while developing new ones.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BS in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 15 years in analog and digital systems design for medical devices, including RF clinical applications.
- System-level electrical design/integration; design for EMC, signal integrity, power supplies, and RF immunity.
- Multidisciplinary experience (software, optical, RF, mechanical, project management).
- Hands-on circuit development, test, and analysis for RF/laser/ultrasound; thermal heating application knowledge and safety/standards.
- Mixed-signal PCB development with embedded microprocessors and FPGAs (plus).
- Regulatory-minded technical solutions; FDA risk management/design best practices.
- Working knowledge of EDA CAD tools; DFM/DFT required.
- Strong data/problem definition and documentation skills (traceability, specs, requirements, V&V plans).
- Prefer regulatory/regulated environment experience (IEC 60601-x, ISO, MIL-STD, FAA).
Desired Technical Skills:
- Analog power output analysis; test methodologies; transducers and modelling.
- Background in clinical laser/RF/ultrasound (plus).
- Experience with RF amplifiers, impedance matching networks, transformers, embedded processors, power electronics, ADCs/DACs, op-amps, FETs, power supplies; prototype-to-release verification.
- Data analysis/software (Matlab/Python) (plus).
