The Position
- Execute assigned projects across any business unit within cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Coach/support PM1s and PM2s to ensure projects are successful (on budget, on time, within scope).
- Partner with Line of Business (LOB) to guide projects; support project roadmap and area master plan development.
- Indirectly report PMO staff via 1:1s, roadblock resolution, risk reporting, and first-level project guidance.
Essential Functions
- Lead multi-disciplined teams to deliver projects on-time/on-budget and develop/execute project plans.
- Lead staffing strategy (internal and external), training support, and manage scope refinement with SMEs.
- Develop bid packages, evaluate bids, drive vendor selection; work with procurement on project contracts.
- Manage purchase orders, invoicing, cost forecasting; monitor/control quality, schedule, and budget; report progress to stakeholders/steering groups.
- Support Project Portfolio Management (PMO Tools) systems and ensure alignment with global programs.
- Partner with LOB on roadmaps (1β3 years) and master plans (3+ years); track area obsolescence; maintain downtime tracking tool.
- Follow safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or Technical Science (or higher with 10+ years PM experience; or HS/GED with 12+ additional years); minimum 8 years proven project management.
- Required: lead change management and major capital expenditure projects; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech.
- Strong communication, negotiation/conflict resolution, stakeholder management (cross-cultural), project scheduling/work planning, analytics, and ability to work technical/non-technical.
- Preferred: advanced PM training, Lean knowledge.
