Senior Payroll GL Accountant

Role: Senior Payroll/GL Accountant responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations and supporting accounting functions within a biopharma-focused company advancing clinical-stage therapies for chronic diseases. Responsibilities include processing U.S. payroll via ADP TotalSource, coordinating international payroll, ensuring tax compliance, preparing payroll journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting the month-end close. The role also involves reviewing employee expenses, supporting SOX compliance, and collaborating with Finance and HR teams to improve process efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; 5+ years of relevant experience with hands-on ADP TotalSource and NetSuite expertise; strong knowledge of payroll taxes, equity compensation taxation, US GAAP, and SOX; proficient in Excel. High-value specifics: Experience supporting payroll in a high-growth biopharma environment; familiarity with equity reporting (e.g., RSUs, stock options); US-based position with minimal travel, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area.
