Senior Patent Counsel/ Patent Agent, Innovation Law

Role: Senior Patent Counsel/Patent Agent supporting Bristol Myers Squibb's innovation law team, focusing on patent strategy and legal protection for biopharma innovations. Responsibilities: preparing and prosecuting patents globally, advising on freedom-to-operate, patentability, infringement, and intellectual property (IP) strategies; managing patent portfolios; conducting landscape analyses; supporting business development through due diligence; drafting and negotiating licensing and collaboration agreements; and collaborating with R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams. Requirements: USPTO-registered patent attorney/agent; 10+ years of patent law experience in pharma/biotech; bachelor’s in chemistry, biochemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences; preferred includes J.D., state bar admission, advanced degree, and scientific research experience. High-Value: pharma/biotech, patent law, global patent prosecution, IP strategy, freedom-to-operate, patent portfolio management, licensing, and collaboration agreements, in a dynamic, research-intensive environment.
