Role Summary

The Senior Operations Supervisor leads day-to-day operations at the plasma donor center, overseeing donor floor activities, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. As a senior frontline leader, this role serves as a lead resource during shifts, ensures execution of operational priorities, and provides direct support to the Center Manager in driving performance, donor satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Location: Spanish Fork, UT, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the leader in the absence of the Center Manager as assigned; perform tasks within the plasma center and support donor flow.
  • Oversee donor operations and supervise staff during assigned shifts, including staffing coordination, task assignments, break schedules, and coaching.
  • Create employee schedules to accommodate donor cycles.
  • Determine the adequacy of inventory levels and manage procurement by compiling and submitting orders to vendors as needed.
  • Keeps Center Manager informed of irregularities and provide action plans to improve center performance.
  • Support and execute daily operational plans to achieve targets related to donor throughput, quality, and productivity.
  • Partner with the Center Manager and Quality team to identify and resolve deviations in real time.
  • Monitor donor flow and address delays or service issues to ensure an exceptional donor experience.
  • Maintain familiarity with applicable regulations and internal SOPs; ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP.
  • Supervise donor selection, plasma collection and manufacturing records to maintain production standards per regulations and SOPs.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings; ensure accurate documentation of records.
  • Maintain a neat, clean facility and ensure equipment is in good working order under Center Manager guidance.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports as required by the Center Manager.
  • Assist in controlling center donor funds as directed by the Center Manager.
  • Participate in onboarding, training, and cross-training of staff to support agility and performance.
  • Maintain active communication with other service areas to ensure documentation and quality.
  • Lead by example to promote safety, teamwork, and accountability; report unsafe situations.
  • May be trained to repair plasma center equipment.
  • Assist the Center Manager in any task necessary to pursue company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Typically requires 6 years of related experience with phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties, with demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of related education and experience may be considered in place of the stated requirements.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Exceptional customer service; proficient in speaking and writing English with legible handwriting; bilingual ability where applicable; ability to understand, explain, and follow SOPs; ability to work flexible schedules in a highly regulated, operations-intensive, high-volume medical environment prioritizing donor and employee safety and plasma quality.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified as a Phlebotomist, Donor Center Technician, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer.
  • CPR Certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Occupational Demands: Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; PPE required; standing 4–6 hours per day and sitting 1–2 hours per day; occasional bending and twisting; light lifting up to 50 lbs; hearing and vision requirements; ability to communicate effectively and follow changing conditions.
