Role Summary

Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) will promote Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists, educate the healthcare community on appropriate use of Pfizer products, and call on accounts to improve patient experience and quality of care. The role increases Pfizer’s brand with high-value target customers by linking account assessment with knowledge of Pfizer’s products and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a broad portfolio of products; maintain strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
  • Develop deep knowledge of applicable customers and markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions).
  • Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts.
  • Engage in strategic account selling and management; develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans to drive objectives.
  • Maintain relationships throughout institutions; overcome obstacles to gain access to health care providers and customers.
  • Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders and top priority customers.
  • Assess needs of target physicians/accounts and address needs with a responsive approach and appropriate resources.
  • Demonstrate superior selling, technical, and relationship-building skills.
  • Engage, influence, and support customers throughout the selling process; communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership.
  • Adapt to new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment; work in a matrix environment leveraging multiple resources to meet customer needs and deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS degree or associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards; DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within past 7 years disqualifies.
  • Required: Minimum 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or 4+ years of oncology HCP experience with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in hospitals, large practices, or managed care.
  • Required: Demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience.
  • Required: Ability to learn quickly and communicate technical and scientific product/disease management information to a wide range of customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated high business acumen.
  • Required: Proficiency with complex digital applications; ability to adapt to Pfizer’s technology model.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of Oncology sales experience.
  • Master’s Degree or Advanced Healthcare Professional degree.
  • Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and Key Opinion Leaders.
