Role Summary
Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) promotes Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists, educates the healthcare community on appropriate product use, and engages accounts to improve patient experience and care quality. The role increases Pfizer’s presence with high-value customers by linking account insights with knowledge of Pfizer products and resources.
Responsibilities
- Promote broad portfolio of products and develop strong knowledge of disease states and therapeutic areas.
- Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts and manage strategic accounts.
- Develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans to achieve objectives.
- Maintain relationships across institutions and overcome access obstacles to healthcare providers.
- Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders and top priority customers.
- Assess needs of target physicians/accounts and address with appropriate resources.
- Demonstrate superior selling, technical, and relationship-building skills.
- Engage, influence, and support customers throughout the selling process with strong communication and leadership.
- Adapt to new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment and work effectively in a matrix organization.
Qualifications
- Required: BA/BS degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination; or associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Required: Ability to travel domestically and overnight stays as necessary.
- Required: Valid US driver’s license with driving record in compliance; disqualifying DUI/DWI or impaired driving within past 7 years.
- Required: Minimum 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or Oncology HCP experience with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in hospitals, large group practices, or managed care.
- Required: Track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience.
- Required: Ability to learn quickly and communicate technical and scientific information to a wide range of customers.
- Required: Strong business acumen and proficiency with complex digital applications.
- Required: Ability to work in a matrix environment and leverage resources to meet customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of oncology sales experience.
- Master’s Degree or Advanced Healthcare Professional degree.
- Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and key opinion leaders.
Skills

- Strong knowledge of customers and markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions).

Education
- BA/BS required at minimum; advanced degrees preferred.
