Role Summary

Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) will promote Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists, educate the healthcare community on the appropriate use of Pfizer products, and engage with accounts to improve patient experience and care quality. The role links account assessment with understanding of Pfizer’s products and resources to increase Pfizer’s brand among high-value customers.

Responsibilities

  • Promote broad portfolio of products; maintain strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
  • Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve objectives; manage relationships across institutions.
  • Overcome obstacles to access with health care providers and customers; build relationships with KOLs and top priority customers.
  • Assess needs of target physicians/accounts and address them with appropriate resources and responsive approaches.
  • Demonstrate superior selling, technical, and relationship-building skills; engage and influence customers throughout the sales process.
  • Adapt to new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment; work effectively in a matrix environment using multiple resources.

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS degree (or equivalent) or associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards; DUI/DWI or impaired driving citation within past 7 years disqualifies.
  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of Pharmaceutical Sales experience or Oncology HCP experience with key thought leaders or high-influence customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience; ability to learn quickly and communicate technical information to diverse customers.
  • Required: Strong business acumen and proficiency with complex digital applications; ability to adapt Pfizer’s technology model.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Oncology sales experience.
  • Master’s Degree or Advanced Healthcare Professional degree.
  • Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers and Key Opinion Leaders.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products; understanding of customers and markets (prescribers, HCPs, institutions, organizations).
  • Strategic account selling and management; ability to develop territory/account/customer plans.
  • Relationship building with institutions and KOLs; access strategy for difficult-to-reach providers.
  • Needs assessment and responsive resource alignment; strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
