Role Summary

Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) will have responsibilities including promoting Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists, educating the healthcare community on appropriate use of Pfizer products, and engaging accounts to improve patient experience and care quality. The role involves increasing Pfizer’s brand with high-value customers by linking account assessment with understanding of Pfizer’s products and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Promote broad portfolio of products; strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products
  • Deep knowledge of applicable customers and markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions/organizations)
  • Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts
  • Strategic account selling and management; develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans
  • Maintain relationships throughout institutions
  • Overcome obstacles to gain access to difficult-to-see health care providers and customers
  • Cultivate relationships with KOLs and top priority customers
  • Assess needs of target physicians/accounts; address needs with responsive approach, targeted skills, and resources
  • Superior selling, technical and relationship-building skills
  • Engage, influence and support customers throughout the selling process; strong communication and leadership
  • Adapt to new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment; work in a matrix environment

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS from an accredited institution or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Required: Domestic travel and overnight stays as necessary
  • Required: Valid US driver’s license; driving record compliant with company standards; DUI/DWI or impaired driving within past 7 years disqualifies
  • Required: Minimum 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or 4 years of Oncology HCP experience with key thought leaders or high-influence customers
  • Required: Demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience
  • Required: Ability to communicate technical and scientific information to diverse customers
  • Required: High degree of business acumen
  • Required: Proficiency with complex digital applications and Pfizer technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Oncology sales experience
  • Master’s Degree
  • Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree
  • Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers and Key Opinion Leaders
