Role Summary
Senior Occupational Health Nurse based in Danvers, MA. Provides occupational health nursing, medical, and integrated services consistent with Johnson & Johnson Occupational Health program policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing services and emergency (first aid) treatments to employees on site; arrange transportation as needed.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to create and maintain safe work environments and facilities.
- Coordinates investigation of complaints or problems and takes corrective action.
- Acts as a liaison with medical providers to ensure billing policy adherence.
- Coaches junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
- Participates as an active member of the First Aid/Emergency Response Team.
- Under physician supervision, administers medications and minor treatments; administers injections for allergies and overseas travel as directed.
- Provides preventive health evaluations and tests per Health Services program protocols.
- Conducts health profiles, evaluations, and services within Health Services & Resources strategy (health promotion education, screenings, drug screenings).
- Complies with policies, nursing practice standards, standing orders, protocols, and medical directives per company and state law.
- Maintains accurate clinical records using approved formats and EMR systems.
- Advises and counsels employees; makes referrals as indicated.
- Provides education and guidance to first aid personnel.
- Develops knowledge of occupational hazards/exposures for the location.
- Assists in medical leaves of absence and Workers’ Compensation as required.
- Participates in evaluations of Health Services & Resources effectiveness (surveys, trend analysis).
- Supports Occupational Health Clinics operations; maintains cleanliness and order of the health facility.
- Participates and advises on available services and facilities; attends continuing education; maintains nursing license and certifications.
- Participates in internal or cross-functional projects and teams.
- Updates and maintains employee medical records in EMR systems.
- Understands and applies Credo and Leadership Imperatives in daily interactions.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Registered Nurse license
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Working knowledge of regulatory areas (ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers’ Comp, STD/LTD)
- Preferred:
- Three to five years of experience in occupational health, emergency room, intensive, or acute care nursing
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing and Case Management or plan to acquire within 3 years
- Audiometry certification or plan to acquire within one year
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
